Eligible EntitiesIndependent school districts and charters are eligible for funding. All applicants must also produce a letter verifying partnership with a Texas vetted teacher residency program to be considered for this grant award.
Focus AreaThe Texas Strategic Staffing Grant for Sustainable, Paid Teacher Residency Program has the goal of supporting Texas districts to build sustainable teacher residencies through the supports provided by Texas Strategic Staffing's technical assistance. Grantees will be awarded funding to pay for Strategic Staffing technical assistance where they will work alongside that provider to make decisions to be able to locally fund teacher resident salaries and other residency support with the goals of 1) providing more diverse teachers access to quality preparation and 2) addressing short term and long term instructional needs of their district by intentionally prioritizing the inclusion of teacher residents in their pipeline planning. Grantees will engage in 2 years of supports during the grant cycle: 1) Year 1: Design: Summer 2024-Spring 2025, and 2) Year 2: Summer 2025-Spring 2026.
