Rural Symposium
Our signature biennial event, The Future of Rural Texas symposium, brings together legislators, local officials, and Texans from across the state to discuss the issues that impact rural Texas.
Hosted by the Texas Tribune, our 2020 symposium was a weeklong, virtual event held November 9 -13. Sessions included some of the issues impacting rural communities across the state, including broadband access, rural hospital closures, supporting students in rural schools, the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, policy priorities heading in to the 87th legislative session and more.
