Focus AreaThe Legacy Foundation funds programs that measurably improve the health of those living in the lower Rio Grande Valley by promoting healthy lifestyles and providing increased access to healthcare for all. The Foundation's number one strategic priority is Obesity and Diabetes Prevention. However, they consider funding for all types of health-related initiatives that fall under the following additional program areas: healthy lifestyles, access to care, mental health, aging in place, dental health, medical education, breast cancer, and scholarships. Responsive Grants award up to $50,000 for any qualified organization that meets the Foundation's other eligibility requirements. These grants are for projects or programs that support specific activities carried out over a defined period of time and/or planned to achieve a specific result or goal.
