Eligible Entities Eligible applicants include states, counties, local governments, and tribes for public transportation facilities that provide access to, are adjacent to, or are located within Federal lands.
Focus Area FLAP supports transportation projects that improve access to, are adjacent to, or are located within Federal lands. The program focuses on enhancing connectivity to high-use recreation sites and federal economic generators, improving safety, mobility, and infrastructure serving visitors and surrounding communities. Eligible projects can take many different forms, including transportation planning and research, engineering and design, road and bridge construction or reconstruction, rehabilitation and preventive maintenance, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, parking areas and rest areas, transit facility support, environmental mitigation, wildlife-vehicle conflict reduction, scenic and contextual enhancements, wayfinding signage, and other transportation projects that provide access to Federal lands.
