Eligible Entities
Applicants should be 501c3 to be eligible. Proposals should align with the Foundation’s focus on Postsecondary Education and Workforce Development. The program does require a dollar-to-dollar match in hard dollars. Proposals should demonstrate a need for services and an innovative approach to addressing these needs. Each proposal shall clearly define its critical milestones, outcomes, and/or performance targets.
Focus Area
The Rio-South Texas Education and Community Development Foundation (RSTEF) has developed a strategic framework with a focus on Postsecondary Education and Workforce Development. RSTEF’s focus on Postsecondary Education and Workforce Development is implemented via three organizational strategies:
1) Awareness & Culture: Support programs increase awareness of the value of education.
2) Workforce Alignment: Support programs that will result in the skilled workforce required for the marketplace today and future. This strategy would include initiatives such as postsecondary credit recovery programs and postsecondary degree attainment.
3) Upskilling the Workforce: Support programs that provide training and development opportunities to expand the workforce’s abilities and minimize the skills gap. This strategy would include initiatives such as the expansion of apprenticeship, internship, and certification programs, as well as support for adult education programs.
