Local educational agencies (LEAs), including independent school districts (ISDs), open-enrollment charter schools, and regional education service centers (ESCs) are eligible for funding.

Focus Area

The Education and Training for High School Pathways grant has the goal of enabling campus leaders and Education and training teachers to 1) effectively train prospective teacher candidates with high quality curriculum on the foundational pedagogical practices and 2) begin to build systems at the LEA level to recruit and launch training for future teachers in their district, thereby contributing to building a closed loop system for talent. The high school pathway is a critical pathway in the overall apprenticeship system in Texas, and has long been a key strategy for districts to 'grow their own'. This grant will continue to support engaged districts to effectively train high school students in the foundational teaching skills and practices.
