Focus Area
The Blue Impact grant program is a BCBSTX effort designed to build healthier communities as part of an ongoing commitment to invest in and partner with nonprofit organizations that offer sustainable, measurable programs to reach Texans in these focus areas: 1) Economic opportunity and stability, addressing issues such as poverty, removing barriers to employment, providing good jobs and upskilling: 2) Nutrition, supporting efforts to decrease hunger and increase access to nutritional food; 3) Neighborhood and built environment, focusing on affordable healthy housing, access to transportation and to physical activity; 4) Locally defined health solutions: addressing hyperlocal health and human service needs; and 5) Optimal health outcomes, helping close gaps in care, specifically in immunizations, diabetes care, cardiovascular care, behavioral health, early detection cancer screening, and maternal and infant health.
